BBC World News was looking for a medium to reach out to different media agencies and build relationships with them. What better way to connect than over a game of football!

Launched in 2014, the annual competition aims to bring together media agencies for a game of football and a give them a chance to claim the event’s top title.

The 4 th edition of the BBC World News Football Connect Tournament saw 18 leading media agencies from Mumbai battle it out in a 5-a-side football event. The event took place at the Cooperage Ground astro turf field in Mumbai. The program engaged 250 employees from 18 media agencies across Mumbai. In addition, the agency connect phase was conducted in 10 media agency offices. The program generated widespread awareness about the various offerings of BBC World news across various platforms and created further opportunities for the sales team to engage with agencies and build interest in the event.
